Systems view of operations management views the organization as a system of interconnected parts that work together to achieve the organization’s goals. It emphasizes the need for coordination and integration of the various parts of the organization in order to optimize the use of resources and achieve the desired results.
The system view of OM is based on the systems thinking approach, which views organizations as complex systems that are made up of smaller subsystems. Each subsystem has its own inputs, outputs, and processes that interact with other subsystems in the system.
The goal of systems thinking is to understand how the system as a whole works, in order to optimize the performance of the system. It views each of these sub-systems as a value addition process which adds value to its inputs to create the output.
